I was at a meeting a handfull of years ago when a new Firearms Act was being "debated" and "community and industry consultation" occurring. I represented SA's 30,000 primary producers at the meeting.

The SA Police Minister Piccolo stated that he saw "no reason why suppressors should not be generally available".

The head of the police firearms branch, stated he agreed. But then outlined what was basically the existing very restrictive procedures. More or less be needs a Commissioner's approval on a case by case basis. Wonder to no one. Completely different to the Minister's intentions.

I immediately questioned the senior cop on why he was proposing a system completely out of sync with his Minister's intentions? Got a bad look and a intimidating police visit within a week to inspect my safe.

Of course the cop's attitude was what was reflected in the Act.

Showscops and bureaucrats run this country, the clown MPs are just overpaid figureheads and actors/puppets.
