Quote: Some one was trying them at the markets. Ill pass .
Occasionaly rabbits around Tennant creek, highest ive got them is about 100km north of Alice. Plenty around Alice and Ularu.
Thanks.
The poison glands on the back of cane toads are a bit of a worry. Supposedly if a crow tips them over onto their back, they are edible by the bird. If eaten from the back, poisonous. So careful treatment might make them edible. Me, too, I'll let others try them first.
On bush roads, we of course see a lot of rabbits during various season at night. Always in Northern SA. Makes sense North of Alice Springs.
I wonder what prevents them from spreading further North? The humidity and more mosquiotes/myxi? In flood country, drowned warrens would also reduce where they could live. Bowever would not stop them in higher country.
I do remember seeing some further North, the last trip and was surprised, but don't remember where.
