"Bombay Armoury" Gustav Genschow Clam Shell action double rifle in 404 Jeffery.

Owned by Anthony G, he is looking for more information on the rifle. I have some comments recorded.

Clam shell action

Chambered in .404 Jeffery rimless

Express sight leaves in 100 to 500 yards (or metres?)

Made Specially for the Bombay Armoury

It appears the Bombay Armoury was a prominent gun shop in India in the 1930's and one of two main Rigby importers and dealers. The major importer being Mantons.

Chamered in .404 Jeffery

Made in Germany

Nice engraving.

12/27 = December 1927 ?

26 grms = 401 grs projectile

73 mm = case length

10.4mm = presumably 10.75mm ???

A couple of suggested references sincluded for future reference.
