I have made replacement leaves more than once and they are in yards.
I doubt that those guns were ever shot at those ranges at the factory except they may have filed in the first leaf.
Once you have the first zero, the math tends to work.

The equation is simple enough and it puts you roughly in the correct place, ammo dependent of course.
