Husqvarna 9.3x62

I just picked up a Husqvarna 9.3x62 bolt action. It is my first project rifle. The action and barrel are in great condition but the stock is a throw away. I am have a stock made by Richards Microfit gun stocks and will glass bed the action and float the barrel. What else would anyone suggest I do to it to make it an African Plains Game rifle. It already has a barrel band for a sling. Cross bolts? suggestions on scopes? How does the kick of a 9.3x62 compare to a 375 H&H? Any suggestions at all? Things I should check?
