The world has changed and continues to change, not for the better, to be sure. I can only speak from an American perspective but recognize the Australian perspective also.
There are many great hunting grounds of the past that exist no more. Many more are mere shadows of what they once were. Most of the places I grew up hunting on are gone, developed. Here in the U.S., the numbers of whitetail deer and elk are staggering in some areas, maybe more than have ever been but there are fewer quality places to hunt than ever also. What constitutes quality hunting?.....that's up to the individual to decide. That's why I live in Alaska.
