why the small objective

Why is the small objective scope
usually seen on big bores? I under-
stand that a "large field of view"
is usually not a problem;but why
limit your vision. A 1.5-6X42 I
think would be a big improvement
from a 1.5-5X20. Weight is not a
problem. Is it tradition or just
the look?
