Hi guys

there is a service that runs in the background on your computer

its called messenger
you can disable this and it will stop the messenger popups

for windows xp, go to start/control panel/administrative tools/services
find messenger in the list, right click and choose stop. Then right click choose properties and set the startup type to disabled

this will fix the problem permanently, however having a firewall will be a better soloution.

There is a program called "kill the messenger" which is free from www.grc.com which disables the messenger service as well
