That was exactly his comments after seeing the pictures.

Although it is only two shots those photos indicate the giraffe offered more resistance to the bullet than the buffalo.

Looking at the bullet for the 100 yard shot where velocity had dropped off, it would indicate at 470 Nitro speed those bullets virtually become a wadcutter.
