.44 mag. M29 - 22.0gr. W296 (H110) 300gr. Truncated Cone: 1,117fps
.44 mag. M29 - 22.5gr. H110 (W296) 275 SWC: 1,210fps

.45 Colt in M94 Winch. 16"bl. 340gr. FN - RP brass only - 23.0gr. W296: 1,470fps
.45 Colt in M94 Winch. 16"bl. 310gr. FN - RP brass only - 25.5gr. W296: 1,556fps
.45 Colt in M94 Winch. 16"bl. 300gr. HP - RP brass only - 25.5gr. W296: 1,563fps

.458 American has a 3/8" leade allowing long seating.

.458 2" (American) 500gr. Hornady RN - 65.0gr IMR4320: 2,036fps
.458 2" (American) 500gr. Hornady RN - 66.0gr IMR4320: 2,056fps
.458 2" (American) 515gr. FN---------- 45.0gr.IMR4198: 1,872fps
.458 2" (American) 545gr. FN---------- 45.0gr.IMR4198: 1,890fps

I should note my .458 2" loads have successfully been used in Siamese Mausers chambered and barrelled in .45/70. So, they would also be good for Ruger#1's.
They have "some" recoil.
For those who want to shoot more normal bullet weights:
350gr. Barnes X - 51.5gr. IMR4198 - 2,257fps
350gr. Horn RN -- 65.0gr. H335----- 2,133fps
""""""""""""""""""68.0gr. H335----- 2,233fps
""""""""""""""""""65.0gr. IMR4320 - 2,137fps
""""""""""""""""""66.0gr. IMR4320 - 2,191fps
""""""""""""""""""52.0gr. IMR4198 - 2,210fps
""""""""""""""""""55.0gr. IMR4198 - 2,290fps

400gr. Barnes SP- 51.5gr. IMR4198 - 2,125fps
400gr. Speer FN-- 51.0gr. HiVel#2- listed 2,050fpsAckley - gave 1,738fps
""""""""""""""""""59.0gr. HiVel#2-- 2,026fps
""""""""""""""""""51.5gr. IMR4198 - 2,150fps
""""""""""""""""""68.0gr. H335----- 2,159fps
""""""""""""""""""68.0gr. IMR4198 - 2,150fps
""""""""""""""""""65.0gr. IMR4320 - 2,157fps

510gr. Winch. RN- 66.0gr. IMR4320 - 2,050fps
""""""""""""""""- 68.0gr. H335----- 2,041fps

545gr. Cast FN--- 47.0gr. Re#15 --- 1,560fps

I've shot moose with 350gr. Hornady RN's as well as 400gr. Barnes, both loaded with IMR4198, however 55gr. and 51.5gr.
as well as a 6'4" black bear with the 400gr. Speer and 51.5gr. IMR4198 as well as a wolf with 515gr. FN and 45.0gr. IMR4198 - killed it too.
I've shot 2 elk with the 45colt in a model 94 Winchester using the 300gr. HP cast slug and Win. 296. load.

edited to transfer more data
