All pre-War Model 70's were drilled for scope mounts only on the front ring. Some barrels were drilled for target scope blocks. Magnum actions had a portion of the receiver bridge machined away to allow for loading the longer cartridges and some bridge mounts had provision for only one screw into the bridge.
