Muskrat = Swamp Rabbit - used to have some recipes in my old wild game cookbook. I never cooked one, though, so cannot comment on what they taste like. Here, they can only be killed by trappers as they are classified as "fur bearer" only.
I miss my rat hat, issued to me in 1973 when in Smithers Detachment. Don't know why all 3 chosen for the picture, are native members. Well, actually, might be a Ukrainian from Saskatchewan or Alberta in the middle.
