Hello Iowa,

This is the post I wrote in another forum. See it is needed to repeat here.

Best!

"...Our country started to make military ammo in the late 40's. And early in the 60's our government arsenals convert some 1933/1935 Mauser-Werke carabines, a kind of Standard Modell Mausers but with 56 cm barrel length (around 22"), into Sporting Hunting rifles. Using all the military components reworked into a kind of Model C "Armee" Sporting rifles. Late in that period some 7,62x51 (.308 Win) rifles of the same configuration were made, using the GREAT barrels made here on the then new Austrian Hammer Forging machinery, turned into the same profile as the original military 1935 7,65x53 barrels. The last batch of these Sporting rifles were made with actions made here for a contract with Voere. Those actions had the same configuration as the FN 400 actions.
But, back to the sporting cartridges, I show pictures of the only sporting ammunition made in our arsenals for those Sporting Carabines in the 60's:
Berdan primed cases, loaded with 44 grs of our "A27" smokeless powder, made specifically for the then new 7,62x51 ammo, used in our, then, new Military rifle, the F.A.L. This early A27 was VERY similar to the actual R15. The bullets are soft point boat tail 12 grams weight (around 185 grains). These cartridges were sealed as the military ones. Very good ammo! The velocity in those 56 cm barrels is around 2450 f/s. The package was like the one in the pictures: 15 cartridges loaded in that clips. This cartridges are now collectors items."
Here the pictures:
