Very nice, indeed. Tastefully engraved, at that.

The 'takedown mechanism' appears to be the standard issue Steyr built type, though the forend pin is inserted from the opposite side.




The buttplate looks like a later style than one would expect with the round knob bolt release. Also, the engraving at the side of the receiver seems to have been polished away (along with the original markings from the receiver ring (a reworked 'Greek'?):

I wonder if that is not the original case for this rifle? The whole idea of the takedown is to make the arm smaller and easier to transport in luggage, thus their cases are fitted to the rifle in its 'taken down' form, thus:
