A good write up and informative.

For a semi auto Sniper rifle I would prefer an M14 followed by an AR platform then the Com block rifles. For a standard range combat rifle I would take an AK over the AR any day.

The AR platform is/can be more accurate than the M14 but the M14 has the reliability that almost matches the AK's. For a normal range combat weapon the AK is more reliable and less maintenance centric than the AR platform. Hence my choices.

Having shot an SR25 (if I have the designation correct- Knights Armament AR in 308) I would love one of these just for the .75MOA five shot groups I managed with it, but not in a combat situation. Tolerances were that tight it did not take much to gum it up.
