Thank you also Kuduae, for that additional information and also, very much appreciated.

I think I have seen one or two of the original's, in 7.65 x 53 and the Arabic script on the receiver ring. This may have caused the confusion I had regarding this particular rifle?
But please, I'm a real fan of 98 Mausers but way under experienced, on the variations.
Thanks to NE, we have you knowledgable and generous people, so willing to give of your knowledge, regarding these and other great firearms.
