Mauser 98 One Piece Base Problem
      13/03/18 10:22 AM

I have a large ring 98 Mauser that has been drilled and tapped for a one piece Leupold or Redfield type base. Two holes on the front ring and one on the rear bridge. The charger hump has been ground flat like a commercial Mauser. Problem is that the hole spacing is not the standard spacing. On a Leupold one piece base the distance between the rear hole on the front ring and the hole on the rear bridge is 4.275. On my Mauser this distance is 4.350 - .075 longer. I feel as if the base used was a standard one piece base for some production Mauser from the past. Does anyone know what base would fit?

I may have to weld up the rear hole in a standard base and re-drill it.

Any ideas?

Thanks
