I like my 300 H&H.
I made it myself on a GEW Mauser. I shoot 200 and 220 grain bullet in it, and it's quite accurate. I have shot 1-1/2" at 200 yards also so I know it will do all I ask of it.
It feeds so smoothly that you can't feel the difference between feeding live rounds and working the bolt over an empty magazine.
By opening up the magazine in both front and rear I am able to get the full powder capacity and someday just for the fun of it I may try some 125 grain bullets just to see if the writers are correct about how the H&H often shoots light bullets well. I don't really know why, as I would not hunt with them, but I am curious to see if it will group them well.

It's long and a bit heavy, but just a joy to shoot. Totally a classic with express sights and a barrel band front swivel mount. Pretty wood too.

I have no "need" for it but I just like it.

I want, therefore I need.
