I have an early 1910 w/a 24" (?) bbl,,full length raised rib. 9.5x56MS
The rifle originally had a full length stock and standard muzzle cap. You can see the line in the bluing along the bbl sides where the wood and the cap were.
IIRC the rifle was made/proofed in 1912. It is retailer marked 'BArrella,Berlin' and has a German (re)proof on the bbl w/a 1913 date. I hope I am remembering the dates correctly as I haven't take the rifle out for quite some time.
When I bought it, it had been cut back to just forward of the front swivel and rounded over.,,a US GI 'bring back souvenier from WW2 said his brother who was selling it.

I can assume the cut full length stock was the so called 'duffle-bag cut' commonly done then to be able to put the taken down stock and bbl'd action into a soldiers duffle back for personal carry on & off the transport ship. Lots of other souvenier rifles have the same issue.
