John - Join the club! I too have been looking for a .577 (Snider!) Howdah for several years, unfortunately not paying the price asked at the time.

In the UK prices have doubled last year, I bid £5000+ for one and lost it by £2K - a very nice one fetched around £12000 with commission from Holt's last year! so now out of my range

I have a "baby" of .500 x 1 1/2" ctg. and several large percussion DB pistols sold as "Howdahs" but in reality "Horse" or "Coach" pistols (all here somewhere)

Only the percussion pistols legal to shoot here but I must get round to one sooner rather than later

I hope you realise your dreams
