A cross bolt that contacts the receiver recoil lug is difficult to install. Using two Talley type crossbolts is more practical. The 9.3x62 has a very stout recoil, more than a 180gr .300 mag in my opinion. I have installed a Pachmayr decelerator pad and will pick up crossbolts on next trip to US.
I have installed 1/4" expoxied in bolts with head cut off and 3/8" holes filed with black epoxy.(like Win mod 70). I have owned 9 Husqvarna 146 and 640 and all but one did not have cracked stocks. Look for a hairline crack at the rear receiver tang.
