I have not as yet bought a powerful rifle which did not end with a stock failure. My first experience was with a M-700 .350 Magnum back in the early '70's and has continued with predictability with .375's .416's and .458"s. My advise to anyone purchasing a mass produced big bore, regardless of manufacture, is to send it to a gunsmith who understands big bore rifles, have him bed it, and if necessary install cross bolts. My .375 Ultra is sitting at the gunsmiths right now waiting for a McMillan stock because I didn't take my own advice. I did send it to a gunsmith alright, and this guy does wonders with super accurate bench guns, but he don't know squat about heavy kickers, so when the stock failed I sent it to the guy I should of sent it to the first time, and decided to go synthtic.
