Quote: I love the model 10 but have been leaning towards the Blaser K95 in single shots.
The K95 is a takedown and you can switch barrels. The other feature is the cooking safety. I sort of like the idea of carrying the rifle loaded and undocked unti you flip the safely up.
Athetetically the Model 10 is a little classier but a K95 with octaganal barrel and sights is quite a looker as well.
To many nice rifles!
I agree with the cocking safety and swithing barrels..-last year when we went to Spain hunting Ibex, the outfitter had a coupel R8's with Zeiss scopes..I used on in 300 Win for the entire trip..really liked it..so much in fact I bought one when I got back..got a screaming deal on it..have a 300 Win and a 375H&H barrel for it with quick detach scope mounts ..have not even shot it yet...but plan to this spring or whenever the weather warms up a bit...
The decocking seems to be really liked or hated..I agree with you and really like it..works really well and is quick...
