The 505 Gibbs does have more frontal area and probably more knockdown but it sure does not have the penitration of a 458 Lott...
I prefer the 458 Lott on elephant for that reason...and could never tell that the 505 killed Buffalo better than a 458 Lott...but to each his own and the Gibbs is certainly a good caliber.
