Hello Rolf.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TOO!

All is ok here. Are you going to come visit in 2017?

Snow is kneed deep here, and the temperature is very low. It's 10;00 in the morning now and the temp has come all the way up to -18.3 C.
I am sure that makes you want to jump on an airplane today and come.

I don't need any 9.3X64 brass. The reason for the question is that I am trying to get Green Mountain Barrels to make a run of 9.3 barrels for the American market, and I was posting suggestions for chambers. The 9.3X64 seems like an excellent caliber, but brass is not easy to find in the US.

The 2 cartridges that are of interest mostly are the 9.3X57 and the 9.3X62.

Both because the work so well on game and because they are extremely easy to convert from existing KAR or GEW Mauser 98s. The 9.3X62 can also be made form about any American made 30-06. Barnes, Hornady, Nosler, Speer and Swift all make bullets in .366" so they are available here. Brass is not a problem because PPU makes it and also because the 9.#x57 can easily be formed from 8MM Mauser, and the 9.3X62 can be made from 35 Whelen easily.

In my posts I am informing the readers of their options, but the hang-up with the 9.3X64 is the brass. So I was asking those that read here if it was still available, and then I need to find someone that imports it into the USA if anyone is to have interest in that caliber. It is about the same as the 375H&H on game and can be made from a GEW Mauser easier than a 375H&H can, so it should be more popular here, but without available brass that's not going to happen.

Anyway,,,, that's why I asked the question.

Stay in touch
Happy hunting.
