I believe that Jeff Cooper wrote somewhere that very few factory rifle and or scopes made it through GunSite's rifle courses without something somewhere causing a retreat to the gunsmith for a bit of tweaking.

If memory serves the round count for the school was @500, not really enough to wear anything out.
