The rate of twist is 1:9 for the 6.5RM in the Mod673. The rifle weighs in at around 7.5 lbs. The longer barrel certainly wouldn't hurt and the shorter 18" barrel on the original Mod600 was one of the criticisms, especially in the 6.5RM, that led to it's demise.
