My Uberti-manufactured model of a Winchester 1876 in .50/95, holds 11 rounds in the tube and one in the chamber for total of 12. It also loads fairly quickly.

Thus, I agree with the premise of a good self-defense gun - especially in the time of muzzleloaders and hand weapons on that continent.
It is my high capacity modern firearm.
