A photo or two would be helpful! Turning the dial on top clockwwise makes the rifle shoot up. I guess about a quarter turn is more than 6", but it's cut and try. Disregard the range numbers on top of the dial. These are on a seperate ring clamped on by Little screw(s) and is to be indexed after zeroing in the rifle.
Windage adjustment is not in the scope, but usually by opposing screws in the rear mount foot.On some old Mounts it is by a crossfeed with a square key in the rear mount foot, sometimes there is no adjustment provided at all. Then you have to drive the front base plate left or right in it's Slot.
