It might need to be understood that in many countries one can not just buy another rifle, or buy and sell at will, and what one has needs to do the job. Irrespective of the aesthetics.

Dorleac has some good ideas in his posts as do some others.

I wonder if mounting the scope off centre might not solve the bolt clearance and height problems.
