Hi GWH:

The R8 was a 9.3 x 62. The handloads were F/L resized, trimmed to the proper "trim to" length, chamfered, deburred, etc., bullets seated deep enough to avoid touching the lands.... I tried die sets from two different die manufacturers properly adjusted to ensure the shoulders were appropriately pushed back, etc.....

The gun always went bang, but the loads just wouldn't chamber without significant and unnatural force applied to hammer the action closed.
