Yes- same type of modification. I did not cut either more deeply - just opened up the top to get rid of that awful fuzziness my eyes produce.

Those are not the only guns I have this sort of sight.

For those people who have difficulty with ALL open sights but do not want to use a scope, this sort of sight is also quite good. The besd in the middle, is the front sight. The rear sight fits the normal dovetail, but is used as a peep sight. Other rifles in History used this sort of sight- ie: a buckhorn sight.

This rear buckhorn sight, used as a peep sight with a silver blade front sight, is a copy from an original Hawken.
