Here's the 1978 Big Bore 94 that I had. foolishly sold it at a local gun show a few years ago. Got $600.00 with dies and some brass, mostly made from .30/30 brass.
Note the rear sight filing I did. I also used an ivory bead for the front sight.
This rifle would hold about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4" for 5 consecutive shots off the bags at 100meters. It did not spread the shots as the barrel heats up, as I've heard 94's are prone to do. High polish on the barrel and action - nice, 'handy' little rifle.
The only game mine collected was 2 moose. One took 1 shot, the other, 2 as my first on him hit the hip and smashed that big bone, but went no further. He was looking at me over his back, not facing me as I'd initially thought. He took 4 steps after the second shot angled up from the left side through the diphram, then left lung and right lung and stopped in the front muscle of his right front leg.

You can drive them faster if you want. Moose are not small animals and it's plain to see why the .38/55 at 1,350fps worked so well. This little round is impressive.

The first moose gave me only a shoulder shot, so I took it. The bullet just missed the on-side leg bone, holed both lungs, then a rib, then through the off side leg bone and stopped against the hide. This moose took off like a racehorse out of the gate, and dropped stone dead in 1 1/2 strides. Impressive. Both 220gr. Hornady's looked exactly the same, expanded back to the cannelure, nice mushroom and that was it. Both lost less than 25gr. weight.

"THE LOAD" 220gr. Hornady FN which was designed for this ctg. 42gr. H335 for a softball load at 1,940fps MV. Crimped, of course.
