Rigby Rear Sight...or not??
      14/12/14 04:53 PM

I was recently fortunate enought to pick up a 303 Rigby Mauser, sans its original barrel, but otherwise intact.

With the rifle came this rear sight ( minus the base), which the owner states was " probably" the original, but after 40 years his memory is not what it used to be!
It is quite non typical Rigby, but looks correct for the rifle.
It sports the half aperture, multi leaves with the front one folding forwards, and the rest folding backwards. I presume the half apertue makes for easy use of the the Rigby peep sight, which is present and correct according to the Rigby record.

As I intend to bring the rifle back to its original state can anyone confirm having seen this sight on any other Rigby Rifle. Grateful for any comments.

Best
Eric
