Been a few times, caught Marlin, Tuna (yellowfin), dorado or Felushi as they call them there, cuda, wahoo. If you are going over the reef you then have about 2 hours before you hit the cliffs where the big stuff is. However, if you are taking a fly rod only I don´t think you need to do that. Twice while trolling small rubber lures behind within the reef for small tuna as livebait we hooked up with something that shouldn´t have been there, both times on 30lb gear, first was a black marlin (est 500lbs) who just buggered off, second time a marlin on a rapala !! not big, 150lb ish but both were only 300 yards from shore.
