For the historical value alone:
Double eights were the common elephant rifles for both India and Africa up to the turn of the previous century, and were then carried as heavy backup rifles well into the nitro era.
At the time everybody had one!

...whereas I get the distinct impression you could count the number of historical 4-bore users on the fingers of one hand.

Besides, I just love SxS doubles!
