I do not know for sure of a 2 bore. I would like to read the article of proof of such a gun. I now, there was a single shot in 2 bore ctg. rifle made recently (in the last 10 years) in England as well as the ML 2 bore Steve built and 2 bore ctg. double that Colin made.

Baker did have a 3ounce belted ball single barrel rifle noted as being 2 groove. It used 13 drams of powder, ie: 355gr.rifle powder.

Baker's words:

"This was kind of Devil Stopper and never failed in flooring a charging elephant". "I had a conical 4 ounce 'ball' mould (1,750gr.) made for the rifle which led him into such scrapes he eventually gave up the conical mould made for this rifle, the ball of which weighed 4 ounces.(1,750 - same weight as a 4 bore round ball but instead of rendering it more invincible, it entirely destroyed it's efficacy, and brought me into such scrapes that I at length gave up gave up the conical ball as useless."

It is possible he had another larger round ball gun made or obtained one elsewhere - in India perhaps. I am not aware of it, but would like to be made aware with quotes from his writing, etc - anything that could be construed as proof.

One chap wrote he'd misinterpreted the 2 groove belted ball as meaning a 2 bore. A 2 groove, 2 bore belted ball would be well over 3,500gr.
