I was fishing with my son the Sunday before last, and the bail stopped working on my lightweight Goldmax reel, which I've had for 20 years. It's my favorite one, in fact, the other rods and reels never leave the rack. I have no idea how many fish it has helped me catch.

So I called Abu Garcia in Iowa on Monday morning, and gave the nice lady the part number of the broken part I had found. She told me they'd just send it down, no charge.

So now we can go fishing again.

It is nice to do business with a company that stands behind their product like this, I would have been happy to pay for it. If I ever have another breakage, I'm just going to send it up there and have it rebuilt - the cost is very reasonable. The reel will deserve it by then.
