Gentlemen,

has any of these sights caused the regulation to be off. Assuming your DR was regulated to open sights, OR a scope in the first place?

When at Heym, I was interested in having ALL THREE, ie express sights, scope and a dot sight. All may regulate differently I was told. Just for info - not to go off topic - So in practice, I would have had the rifle regulated for the scope primarily (.375 Flanged), then open sights a good compromise to 50 m (ie for 0 to 50 m they would work well enough, crossing before 50 m if regulated for a scope say to 100 m). The dot sight, I would have just hoped was similar to the open sights, but was told it is different yet again. I could not go ahead with this planned rifle due to changed economic circumstances.

So just for info, interested to see if changing from open sights to a dot sight has affected regulation in a noticeable way? Thanks.

The RMR made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the regulation. It weighs almost nothing at all. It does however make one's sight picture a little more consistent/easier particularly for older eyes. My composite groups didn't really change between irons and RMR. Still maybe 2" @ 50 yards. The irons take an incredible amount of attention and focus for me to do the 2" though whereas the RMR will produce similar groups with a little less work aligning the shot. I don't have facility to mount a scope on this gun and I don't think I'd want to. The .500 is on the very upper limit of my ability to handle the recoil and a scope unless mounted scout style would surely remodel my eyebrow in short order.
