Here are the names of the company from 1864 to now. As you see, there was no change of the company name in 1938. From 1938 to 1945 the guns were “Made in Germany” instead of “Made in Austria” only.
1864 Josef & Franz Werndl & Company
1869 Oesterreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft AG (OEWG), Steyr
1926 Steyr Werke AG
1934 Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG
1989 Steyr Mannlicher GmbH
