As always, a mix will probably be the best outcome. Hunting, translocation and habitat management.

When somebody in India finally recognises that they can't blame hunting for tiger decline more than 40 years after it stopped, they'll have to accept that habitat destruction can only be resolved one way.

They need to be careful though, that if they choose to translocate tigers that they're not just express delivering poaching fodder. Since tigers and leopards are already, shall we say, massively unpopular in certain parts of India already, one can only wonder at what may be the reception of imports.....

All in all, a great problem to have, unless its you being eaten.
