Not trying to be sarcastic--so please do not take it that way..but have you never gone shooting prairie dogs in the west anywhere??? it is NOT uncommon to shot p-dogs at 4-500 yards and beyond...one of the primary calibers used is 22-250 or 220 Swift...an antelope is many times larger than a p-dog...it is really not as difficult as you may think...wind plays a big role..but on that day..it was very still..which is very uncommon for that area of the state..

n the last 3 years she has shot antelope at 265, 346, 358 and now over 500...she shoots with me, practices and is a very good shooter.

Up to around 600 yards you also don't have to compensate for earth movement..the coriolis effect...however in that 800-1000 yard range it does come into play..along with many other factors..but as I read in an article from Field and Stream--in making the 1000 yard shot..with the aid of todays technology, etc...its no longer what it once was..

then there is the debate of is it ethical or not..that is a decision everyone has to make..and be honest of your skills..and what distances you practice...along with the type of hunt you want..
