I'd shoot the hell out the 458 Win first and see if you can stand the recoil. The way to make it shine is with a 450 soft or solid with Re 7. I own both a 458 Win and Lott and yes the Lott gives greater velocity but at increased recoil where I can stand only about 20 rounds at a whack. With the 458 Win, I can shoot around 60 rounds before fatigue sets in.
