Not always. Quite a few people firmly believe in leaving something in it for the next bloke.

Secondly, it was only a few years ago guns were jumping
more than the $2200 in the same time period.

At the end of the day, it does not matter what a gun is advertised for, the value of the gun is what a particular person is willing to pay for it on a particular day. The next day, another person might be willing to pay more.

The day you start worrying what someone bought a gun for that you are interested in is the day you will probably walk away from a very good deal on a Double Rifle,
not because it isn't a good deal but because in your mind
they are making too much profit on it.
And you will be the loser.
