I don't want to make a big deal of it. I don't mind being corrected for mistakes. I am not a technical expert.

Similarly many members on NE are not experts, and one thing I have heard in the past, many are shy to make a comment, because they see a wealth of knowledge in many members here and are nervous of being shouted down, called idiots etc as happens on many forums. I always tell them not to worry, people here are pretty understanding. And that is the way we plan to keep it.

I enjoy your posts leading to the fine guns you have for sale. And plan to load them onto our archives. It is good also to have another person able to contribute.

Back to the original question. Thanks for the explanation on exactly what the small lever is for. Never seen one myself. Including on top of the range H&H sidelocks. Examined a nice .600 NE only two or three weeks ago. If it had one, I am blind.

Still I still say and agree with the orginal comment, not something I would want on a DGR rifle, whether it costs $10,000 or $200,000 even if it keeps the "gun bearers" from knocking the safety off or not. Personal opinion, preference or whatever. Critique based on hunting experience, and what is a nuisance when operating the safety, opening the DR etc. Un-necessary in my opinion.

Actually if the rifle has cartridges in the chambers, it is in my hands, if carried by a tracker they are removed. Same as a bolt action, the chamber is empty even if the magazine is loaded ... called basic safety. No need for a safety catch on the safety catch ... If the DR is needed in a hurry, it should be in one's own hands, and not a trackers.
A lot of time in our hunting here, we are the trackers, gun bearers, water carriers, clients and even guides all in one at times ...
