Rigby mauser. Is that why you have wandered over to the darkside and uses these Weatherby's - heretic

I am firmly in the Darkside with you RigbyMauser. Have been a WBY user for 30+ years. My recent failing eye sight is calling for optics and a pair of little Mark V's have stepped up to help.

That said, they are NOT and will never be a slim, svelte, well rounded Edwardian produced Bolt rifle. I will take a Rigby or preferably a Fraser (or surely this BOSS) bolt rifle every chance........shamefully practically requires optics for my hunting

I testify before the NitroExpress Vintage Gun Court...I have 1 Weatherby in .240cal
When this said I begin to reconize "Weatherby" as an interesting genuine American Gunhistory worth telling. The Weatherby like you write will never become the slick trim/slim stalkingrifle of the past.
A 215grain @ 2150 ft/sec from a .303 will drop any roebuck here in this kingdom and beyond with given distance ofcouse. I will also at any chance when hunting roebuck use my Kurz 6,5x54kP or a Rigby Ball & Shot too. A .38 special is all it takes. The roebuck isnīt a tough animal like a wild boar. But for hunting in Africa for longe range springbok, wilderbeast or any other larger antilope the .303 comes with a limitation where my .270Wea(pre-winnie) have never heard of "limitation" yet.
I have shot quite a few animals with the .270wea and I have seen how fast animals drop versus a slower moving bullet.
Use the Boss as long as you eyes can use the ironsights. I too enjoy ironsights, which mainly is on my .333Jeffery when hunting in Africa.
