This caliber interests mee a great deal. This could have been a great caliber but Purdey's chose a very light bullet 230grs.But for big thick skoinned animal it is useless. I have seen two Purdey 400ds and they are absolutly beutifull guns with fantastic propostions and handling. Unfortunately most of them have been rechambered or rebarreled.

Was this cartrige originally only intended for big cats? and large game with thin skin? it must bee a splendid wildboar/moose gun??

could this have been a very popular cartrige if they had put in a heavier bullet, like 300gr+
