I always take 2 rifles along-just in case. On the other hand, if you take only 1, and something happens to it, there is almost always one available in camp to use. On my last trip, my hunting buddy took his new 375 H&H and to be frank, it was too much gun for him. He was afraid of it, and couldn't shoot it. He flinched so badly that his P.H.wouldn't let him use it to hunt with. Instead, the P.H.went back to his house and brought out a 7 X 57 for my friend to use. He went on to make 10-12 one shot kills with it. After we got home, I bought the 375 from him cheap.

I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law, so I always take 2 rifles along.
