About horn nose caps and that Austrian "Ischl style":

Translation: "Ischler Stutzen" is the collective term for the legendary single shot hammer stalking rifles that were used by emperor Franz Joseph I. Leithner was working from ca. 1850 to 1880, and indeed he had his special syle, often using an ornate trigger guard resembling those found on wheellock rifles and early flintlocks, and plenty of stag horn, not only in the nose cap, but also for ramrod thimbles or in the patchbox cover - maybe because this goes so well with the stag horn buttons on your Loden coat and Lederhosen?? Anyway, it seems he created a fashion!
