I cannot say if it has been done, but ignoring other considerations, a 3.800" COAL is way long for a standard Mauser 98. Even 3.65 for the .375 H&H is long and with case hardened actions calls for less than top pressure loads as the lugs can set back. I am not saying you could not achieve this feat, but a P14 will handle that length much better than a M98.
